Robert Edward “Roger” Hartzog, 67, of St. George, husband of Van Woodberry Hartzog, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at his residence.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Duane Woosley officiating. Burial will follow in the St. George Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Behling Guess, Kenny Stroble, Joshua Gruber, Johnny Parish, Johnny Leviner and Carl Jenkins. Visitation will be an hour before the service.
Roger was born on April 20, 1950, in St. George, a son of Robert Edward “Bob” Hartzog and Tony Jernigan Hartzog. He was a 1968 graduate of St. George High School, served in the SC Army National Guard and an asphalt Paving Superintendent with Banks Construction Company. He was a member of Old St. George Baptist Church and attended St. Matthews Baptist Church. He was a member of the Grover Hunting Club.
Surviving is his wife, Van W. Hartzog, St. George; a daughter, Shannon H. (Chuck) Kirtley; grandchildren, John Harmon and Olivia Kirtley, all of Summerville; sister and brother-in law, Ann and Jackie Herndon; mother-in-law, Molly Van Woodberry, all of St. George; and, an aunt, Helen J. Thompson, Williston.
