Erline Hilton Harbeson

Erline Hilton Harbeson, 89, widow of Ralph Harry Harbeson, of the Villages of Summerville, entered fully into the presence of our Lord and Savior on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Trident Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Harleyville Southern Methodist Church with Reverend Kelly Snelgrove and Reverend Reggie Thomas officiating.  Burial will be at 2:00 PM at Bethany Cemetery in Charleston, SC.  Family will receive friends an hour before the service. 

Erline was born on June 13, 1927 in North Charleston, a daughter of the late Earl William and Adelaide Whetsell Hilton.  She was a graduate of North Charleston High School and continued her education at Florida Atlantic University where she received her Master of Education.   Erline then went on to become an elementary school teacher in Jacksonville, Florida.  She was a member of the Harleyville Southern Methodist Church, St. George Chapter Order Easter Star #166 where she was a pass worthy matron. AL-MAS Court Ladies Oriental Shrine of North American and Daughters of Nile in Jacksonville, FL and American Legion Post Auxiliary #105, St. George. She was predeceased by a son, Rodney Steven Harbeson. 

Mrs. Harbeson is survived by her son, Timothy D. (Paula) Harbeson, Irmo; her daughter, Diane H. (Joe) Zielinski, St. George; grandchildren, Steven (Courtney) Heulett, Asheville, NC and Karen Tara Knight, Jacksonville, FL; and great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Anna Victoria Knight.  The family would like to thank the staff of the Villages of Summerville for their excellent care.
