William "Bill" Creech Obituary

William Edgar (Bill) Creech, 64, entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the home of his daughter after extended illness.

A Memorial Service will be held 2pm Sunday, November 22, 2020 at his daughter’s home, 127 Laurel Bay Road, Harleyville, SC 29448 with Pastor Roy Dean Knight officiating.

William was born on June 4, 1956 in Allendale, SC a son of the late William and Betty Jean Ferguson Creech. He was a former employee of Lafarge Cement Company and was a graduate of Harleyville-Ridgeville High School and a member of St. George Church of Christ. Holly Dunn Said It Best: Daddy’s hands were soft and kind when I was cryin’. Daddy’s hands were hard as steel whenI’d done wrong. Daddy’s hands weren’t always gentle but I’ve come to understand there was always love in Daddy’s hands.

William Creech or Bill as he was known to most was not always an easy man and he expected a lot from his children. He definitely instilled in my brother and I to work hard for what we wanted in life. There was no doubt though that his children were his whole world . Dad was one of our biggest fans and sometimes he coached whether we were involved in baseball, football, cheering , pageants…etc. He made sure he was there to support us. Dad was not only a great dad to us but he was there for any of the children in the family that needed him. He also treated anyone who stayed with us like one of his own. This meant you got the good, the bad and the paddle if needed. Prior to having his massive stroke at the young age of 45, Dad was the first one to be there for a friend or family member. He would show up to the hospital and do his best to make the person laugh to take their mind off the situation if only for a little while. I can’t count the many family members and friends that have told me Dad was there for them through their roughest times. I pray that spirit of being there for others lives on in me.  If Bj and I thought we were something special, we definitely took a backseat when the grandchildren came. Dad loved being PAPA to our children and was so proud of every one of them. I sure wish our children had known PAPA prior to having his stroke but I know they would all be even more rotten today if that was the case. Daddy I know you had a lot of struggles here on this earth and you faced a lot of heartache and pain. Although it hurts to think of a world that you are no longer in  I am thankful you are no longer suffering.  Daddy enjoy dancing, running and walking whereever you desire on legs that are no longer in pain. Rest in peace daddy! I Love You, Kristin
