Selena Evelyn Blount

Selena Evelyn Blount, 84, of St. George, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 3, 2022, after an extended illness.

Evelyn was born January 10, 1938, in Dorchester County, a daughter of the late Barney A. Leonard and Selena T. Leonard. She was educated in St. George Schools, earned her Register Nursing degree from MUSC school of Nursing and retired from Ralph H. Johnson Veterans Hospital in Charleston, SC.  She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.  She was predeceased by a grandchild, Kelly A. Scott.

Surviving is her son, Mike Scott (Anne), Campbeltown, Scotland; a daughter, Marsha Scott (Dan Smith), St. George; 5 grandchildren, Michelle Glenn (Allen), Steven Scott, all of Campbeltown, Scotland, Kristina Smith, Daniel J. Smith, both Palm Bay, FL, Shane Smith, Bremertown, WA; 5 great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Campbell, Cohen Campbell, Tyler Allen, Jaxson Allen, Lauren Scott, all of Campbeltown, Scotland,  and a sister-in-law, Marianne Leonard, Texas.

A special thanks to the wonderful ladies who lovingly cared for her over the years; Jeannette Smiley, Leola Sakiel, Gertrude Jenkins, Sylvia Smalls, Mrs. Bing and Ida Daniels.
