Robin Hay Obituary

Robin Hussey Hay, 66, wife of Donald Hay, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday in the Harleyville Cemetery with the Reverend Richard Knight and Haskell Parler officiating.  Pallbearers will be Al Hay, Richard Purvis, Scotty Mendenhall, John Pendarvis, Trent Pendarvis and John Welch.

Robin was born on July 22, 1956, a daughter of the late Richard E. “Dick” and Carolyn Skeens Hussey.  She was a graduate of Mims Academy and Baptist College.  Robin was lifelong educator and retired from Dorchester District 2 & 4 schools.  She loved every child that crossed her path within the community, her classroom, and beyond. Robin was lifelong member of Harleyville Southern Methodist Church where she served in many positions including teaching Sunday School and the church pianist.  Robin’s love for her family and community was undeniable but being a mother to her boys and being their biggest fan brought her the most joy in her life.  Robin was a beautiful person inside and out and will be missed by all who loved her.

Surviving is her husband, Donald Hay; sons, Stephen Myers (Mitzi), Chris Myers (Courtney), and DJ Hay (Jennifer); grandchildren, Madysen Myers, Kaitlyn Deboise, Leigha Wilder, Kinleigh Myers, Kaelyn Myers and Knox Myers and Jordan Hay; a brother, Richard “Chip” (Holly) Hussey and a sister, Sheila (Denny) Dukes; brother-in-law, Allen Hay (Ginger); sister-in-law, Brenda Knight (Dickie).
