Leila Inez Newman, 83, of Harleyville, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at her residence.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at Limestone Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Yagman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard T. Newman, Lloyd “Trey” Infinger, III, Brian A. Infinger, Joshua W. Newman, Sr., Noah Newman and James Clark. Visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 4:00-6:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George.
Inez was born on April 24, 1939, in Dorchester a daughter of the late John Thomas Smith Sr. and Senith E. Smith. She was a graduate of Harleyville Ridgeville High School and was a member of Limestone Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and participated in the meal ministry. She was predeceased by siblings, Virginia Smith, Richard Smith and Tom Smith.
Surviving are her sons, Jerald W. “Jerry” (Kelly) Newman, Jr., West Ashley and Thomas Christopher “Chris” Newman, Harleyville; daughter, Patricia A. “Patti” (Lloyd) Infinger, Harleyville; daughter-in-law, Tallie A. Newman; sisters-in-law, Rachel Smith and Sarah Smith; grandchildren, Richard Thomas (Tanya) Newman, Ashlee Nicole (Stacy) Langley, Joshua Wallace (Chelsea) Newman, Sr., Noah Lynne Newman, Marie (Charlie) Ayers, Crystal Teresa (James) Newman, Lloyd Alvin “Trey” (Jessica) Infinger, III and Brian Andrew (Amanda) Infinger; and 21 great-grandchildren.
