Joseph Richard Patrick

Joseph Richard Patrick, 86, of Harleyville, entered eternal rest on Friday, March 27, 2020 surrounded by his family at Trident Medical Center. 

Graveside Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 30, 2020 at Thompson Cemetery, Dorange. SC

Joseph was born on March 23, 1934 in Reevesville, a son of the late Daniel Lewis and Cora Ann Dukes Patrick.  He was a retired Giant Cement repairman and truck driver with Keith Britt Trucking, and a farmer.  He was a member of the St. George Unit of the SC Army National Guard, Reevesville Baptist Church and president of the Cattle Creek Hunting Club.  He was predeceased by his wife, Kathy S. Patrick, a brother, Daniel L. Patrick, stepson, Ernie Wesner and granddaughter, Amanda Mizell.

Surviving is his special companion, Jane O’Quinn Canady, Harleyville; a son, Keith (Kelly) Patrick, Reevesville; a daughter, Renee P. (Ross) Scruggs, St. George; grandchildren, Kacey (Jeremy) Horton, Justin (Sabrina) Scruggs, Lauren Scruggs and Ross (Taylor) Scruggs, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Blewer, Ayden Mizell, Fisher Horton, Ellie Horton, Rylee Mitchell, Miley Knight, Forrest Scruggs and Bailey Scruggs; sisters, Bessie Rae P. McAlhaney and Francell P. (Chesley) Bair; Step-daughter, Charlene (Donnie) Mosley and her children Mark and Joshua Mosley; a special great-grandnephew, Jackson McAlhaney.
