Jo Ann Goldman Simons, 90, widow of Lawrence Duncan “Tat” Simons, of St. George, entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at her residence.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday in the St. George Cemetery with Brother Roy Dean Knight officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Jo Ann was born on March 18, 1930 in Tanner, Alabama, a daughter of the late Joseph and Irma Beddingfield Goldman. She was the owner of Simons Day Care for 30 years where she raised and loved many children. She was a member of the St. George Church of Christ, DAR and Upper Dorchester County Historical Society. She was predeceased by sister Jean Godley and step-brother, Michael Hill.
Surviving is a son, Lawrence Peter “Pete” Simons, St. George; two daughters, Susan Christine (Mike) Heath, Hanahan, Martha Elizabeth “Beth” (Dean) Johnston, Mooresville, NC; grandchildren, Kayla (Nelson) Young, Lauren (Jordan) Beard, Meagan (Jackson) Simons, Kyle C. (Lauren) Heath, Harrison (Samantha) Heath and Carleigh Ann Johnston; great granddaughter, Lillian S. Young; sisters, Martha Gibson, Betty Goldman, Nancy Murray and step-siblings, Deanna Nelson and Gerald “Jerry” Hill.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice, aide Kasia Wolfe, nurse Chris Lantz and special friends, Larry and Grace Beaudrot.
