Jerry Griffin Obituary

Jerry Norman Griffin, 76, husband of Sandra Hartzog Griffin, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Trident Medical Center Hospital, North Charleston, SC.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 18, 2020 at Magnolia Cemetery Annex, 401 Whetsell Rd., Reevesville, SC.  Visitation will be 1:00 PM Friday at the Reevesville Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Pallbearers will be his three grandsons and grand nephews, Will Hartzog, Aron Herman, Andrew and Daniel Fulton and Ben Franks.

Jerry was born August 1, 1944, in Reevesville, the son of the late Frank and Eva Padgett Griffin.  He was a 1962 graduate of St. George High School.  He retired from Stroble Oil and Tire, Tags Wholesale as owner/manager and had previously established and operated Griffin’s Family Restaurant in St. George for many years. 

Jerry was an active member and had served as a deacon at Reevesville Baptist Church where he currently was serving on various committees.  He was treasurer and trustee of Magnolia Cemetery Annex and a member of the NRA.  He was a Clemson fan, loved Campmeeting, and traveling with family and friends.

Jerry was predeceased by his sister, Lorene Franks, and his in-law’s, Clyde and Alice, Billy, and Johnny Hartzog. 

Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Sandra H. Griffin; daughter, Tammy (David) Wagers; three grandsons, Davi (Katelyn) Wagers, Ryan (Autumn) Wagers and Alex Wagers, (his girlfriend, A.J. Von Ohsen) and great-granddaughter, Emmylyn Wagers; aunt, Virginia Padgett; nephews, Steve (Lynn)  Franks, Clyde “Bubba” (Dee Dee) Hartzog; nieces, Deborah (Samuel) Herman and Nan (David) Bell and his beloved Izzy.
