Jefferson "Jeff" Davis Wimberly, IV

Jefferson “Jeff” Davis Wimberly IV, 38, husband of Shannon Wimberly, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 25, 2021, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.

Jeff was born on October 24, 1983, son of Jefferson “David” Davis Wimberly and Joyce Shieder Wimberly.  Jeff was predeceased in death by his maternal grandfather, Hubert Shieder and paternal grandparent Jefferson Davis Wimberly, Jr. and Lyle and Catherine Rochelle.

Jeff was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved all things outdoors but most of all his wife and children. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Jefferson Davis Wimberly V and daughter, Harper Elizabeth Wimberly, all of the home; parent, David and Joyce Wimberly; maternal grandmother, Eunice Shieder; father and mother-in-law, Michael and Sharon Thornall, all of St. George; brother and sister-in-law, Lance and Carissa Thornall and nieces Kaiya and Hailey of Ridgefield, Washington; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 27, 2021 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Reverend Steve Mims officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Kevin Risher, Joey Shieder, Brandon Wimberly, Kevin Rickborn, Ray Billbrough, and Casey Battle.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Rex Allen Wimberly, Chris Blanchard, Ernie Gruber and Zach Wimberly.  Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3:00-5:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George.
