James Allen “Bobby” Creel, 84, of St. George, husband of Jean M. Creel, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 2, 2018 at his residence.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM, at St. Matthews Baptist Church with the Reverend Duane Woosley officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lynn Creel, Pinckney Murray, Deral Colson, Ricky Colson, Bill Colson and Jimmy Murray. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, 5:00 to 7:00 PM at his residence, 3056 Wire Road, St. George.
Bobby was born on November 14, 1933 in St. George, a son of the late Marvin Alfred and Louise Evelyn Murray Creel. He was a 1951 graduate of St. George High School, a shift supervisor at Giant Cement Plant and was a State Constable. He was a member of the St. Matthews Baptist Church where he was a past deacon and served on the board of trustees. He was one of the last shad fisherman in the Edisto River. He was predeceased by a brother, Lutrell (Shirley) Creel.
Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Jean M. Creel; two sons, James Marvin (Donna) Creel, Jody Allen (Wendy) Creel, all of St. George; grandchildren, April M. Creel, Kevin J (Alex) Creel, Scott J. (Ashley) Creel, and Eric A. Creel; great-grandchildren, Easton James Creel, Cameron Elizabeth Creel, and a sister, Joanne Colson.
