Hubert "Shebie" Smoak Kizer

Hubert Smoak “Shebie” Kizer, 83, husband of Barbara C. Kizer, of Reevesville, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at St. George Healthcare Center.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Old St. George Baptist Church with the Reverends James Way and David Drumheller officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Cory Huff, Bill Marchant, Chip Marchant, Joey Huff, Travis Huff and Matt Huff. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George.

Shebie was born on June 30, 1935 in St. George, a son of the late Harper J. and Florence Mizell Kizer.  He was a 1956 graduate of Harleyville High School and retired in 1995 as a crane operator with Santee Cement Company.  He was a member of the Old St. George Baptist Church. He was predeceased by a great granddaughter, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. 

Surviving is his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara Connelly Kizer; sons, Julius James (Valerie) Huff, Hammond O’Brian (Amy) Huff, all of Reevesville and Lynwood Jacob (Lisa) Huff, Bowman; daughters, Diane Huff Marchant, Reevesville and Gloria Marchant, Reevesville; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and, 10 great, great-grandchildren.
