Harold Morris Dantzler, 90, (however, lately if anyone asks, he would say he was 105), of Harleyville, widower of Jobatha Parker Dantzler, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, August 21, 2021.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday at First Baptist Church of Harleyville with the Reverend Jamie Cribb officiating. Visitation will be an hour before the service in the church. Burial will follow in the Limestone Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Erik Mizell, Keith O’Brien, Kevin O’Brien, Shawn Fettue, Cody Hinman, Jordan Dantzler.
Harold was born on December 29, 1930, in Harleyville, a son of the late Freddie Lionel and Laura Victoria Varner Dantzler. He retired from Giant Cement Company. He and his wife were charter members of the First Baptist Church of Harleyville where he was a deacon, Sunday School director and teacher. He enjoyed being a proud lifelong farmer, gardener and spending time with his grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Elmer Dantzler and a grandson, Brian Fettue.
Surviving are daughters, Charlotte D. (Tommy) Weeks, St. George, Sharon D. (Ron) Fettue, Wanda D. (Wayne) O’Brien, and Glenda Dantzler, all of Harleyville; grandchildren, Erik (Miranda) Mizell, Alex Weeks, Shawn Fettue, Keith O’Brien, Kevin O’Brien (Brittany Huddleston), Amy Trower and Cody (Hannah) Hinman; great-grandchildren, Mark, Dawson, Chandler and Gavin O’Brien, Mallory, Grant, Jase and Madelyn Mizell, Jordan Dantzler, Mary Blackman, Hadyn and Trae Trower, Gage, Abby and Weston Hinman, Riley and Gracie; brothers, Fred (Bernice) Dantzler and Charles (Marie) Dantzler; and a sister, Hilda (Burdell) Sweatman.
