Gerald Dewayne Neal, 73, husband of Evelyn J. Walsh Neal, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at his residence.

Gerald was born on August 21, 1948, in Dallas-Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas a son of the late John Carson and Frances Marie Fagan Neal. He was a decorated United States Navy Veteran who retired after 22 years of service as a Petty Officer First Class. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and a life long Dallas Cowboys fan. He is predeceased by a son, Jerry Don Neal.

Surviving is his wife, Evelyn Walsh Neal; a son, Charles Allen (Eunice “Plum”) Smith, Jr.; daughters, Evelyn Renay Robinson and Ramie-Kay Darnell; 8 grandchildren; Shawn Smith, Jamie Merritt (Trapper), Selena Merritt (John) , Fallon Merritt (Donald), Charles Smith III, Teri Darnell, Wade Darnell, Belen Neal and 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, John Thomas Neal.
