Frances Fralix, 73, of St. George, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at her residence.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Indian Field United Methodist Church with Rev. James Way officiating. Burial will follow in the St. George Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wesley Infinger, Richard Infinger, Stokes Brownlee, Lance Brownlee, Scott Mcalhany and Watson Horne. Visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 4:00-6:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George.
Frances was born on August 31, 1949, in St. George, a daughter of the late Grady Lee Mellard and Janie Bell Jackson Mellard. She was a 1967 graduate of St. George High School and worked as a supervisor at Carolina Girls Wear until it closed and Tri County Chamber of Commerce for many years. She was a volunteer with the World Grits Festival Committee for many years. She was a member of Old St. George Baptist Church and attended Indian Field United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by a brother, Herman W. Mellard.
Surviving are her sons, Michael Jeremy Brownlee, Goose Creek and Brian Haskel Fralix, Easley; a grandson, Cameron Michael Brownlee; longtime companion and caregiver, Gene Brownlee, St. George; Sisters, Carol Virginia Atkins, Lenoir, NC, Barbara Louise (Rickey) Infinger, St. George and Ruby Dorita (Hozea) Clark, Dorchester; a brother, Kenneth Lee (JoAnn) Mellard, St. George; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Old St. George Baptist Church, Indian Field United Methodist Church or St. George United Methodist Church.
