Fannie Hartzog Obituary

Fannie Catherine Hartzog, 93, of St. George, SC, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Magnolias of Santee where she had resided for the past seven years.

Graveside funeral service will be held at 4pm Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Magnolia Cemetery Annex with Dr. Greg Butler officiating.  Visitation will be held at Reevesville Baptist Church at 3pm, prior to the service.

Fannie was born in Reevesville, a daughter of the late John Andrew and Mary Ellen Donald Hartzog.  She was a lifelong active member of Reevesville Baptist Church and an organizing member of the Ruth Sunday School Class.  She held positions through the many active years including the hospitality and nominating committees.  Fannie was a graduate of St. George High School, attended Orangeburg Regional School of Nursing, and a graduate of Farrah’s Beauty School.  After retiring from Carolina Girl’s Wear; she persued her career as a cosmetologist at her shop in St. George.

She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters Albert Hartzog, Willie Hartzog, George Hartzog, Marvin Hartzog, Urial Hartzog, Clarence “Dick” Hartzog, and Clyde J. Hartzog, Sophronia Mc Lean. Viola Walters, Maebelle McAlhany, Marie Powell, and Beatrice Hartzog.  She was survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call at the home of Sandra H. Griffin, 297 Sugar Hill Road, St. George, SC.

Memorials may be sent to Magnolia Cemetery Annex, in care of Maxine Chinners, 410 Rigby St., Reevesville, SC.
