Ennis Strickland Obituary

Ennis Love Felder Strickland 78 of Reevesville South Carolina widow of Theodore M. (Ted) Strickland passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Summerville Community Hospice House. She had battled cancer at home under the care of her loving son, Jerremy Strickland, over the past 2 years.

Ennis was born on October 24, 1945, in Reevesville, South Carolina, daughter of the late Lovick E. and Blanche McAlhany Felder of Reevesville.

Ennis was a homemaker and raised two loving sons, a very talented individual, she enjoyed crafting beautiful floral arrangements, and designed and crocheted many lovely keepsakes. She enjoyed her house plants, especially her orchids. She was a very instrumental part of decorating the Town for the annual Magnolia Parade weekend for over 20 years. She served as one of the Original Magnolia Ladies. She was a lifetime member of Reevesville Baptist Church where she was an organizing member of Judy Brice Circle, served on both the Cemetery and Floral committee for many years. She enjoyed accompanying her husband and fellow church members on many outings. She was a member of the Eastern Star.

Ennis is survived by her.son, Jerremy Theodore Strickland of the home; a sister Rose Felder Bair and niece, Theresa B. Chaplin, one first Cousin Bobby Riley; sister-in-law, Martha (George “Shorty”) Prince, brother-in-law, Ervin (Remona) Carraway, and very dear neighbors, Bobby Joe and Maxine W. Chinners. She was predeceased by an infant baby daughter, Tammie Lynn and her son, Michael Richard Welch, as well as her parents and a brother William A. Felder. 

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Reevesville Baptist Church with Rev. Aaron Hawk officiating. A burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery.  The Pallbearers will be Perry Chinners, Ben Coker, Roy Judy, Ryan Reeves, Mitchel Headen and Juan Manuel Fuentes. The visitation will be an hour before the service.
