Elizabeth "Beth" McMillan Obituary

Elizabeth “Beth” Kizer McMillan, 56, wife of Steven L. McMillan, entered into eternal rest after a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at St. George United Methodist Church with Reverend Kathy P. Hudson officiating.  A burial will follow in the Thompson Cemetery, Dorange. Pallbearers will be Bill Clegg, Turner Lewis, Franklin McAlhany, Jr., Trey McAlhany, Randy Ulmer and Wesley Ulmer.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George.

Beth was born on March 27, 1967, a daughter of Donald Marion and Lena Myers Kizer.  She was a 1985 graduate of St. George High School, 1989 graduate of Clemson University and received her master’s degree from South Carolina State University in 1992.  She was a dedicated educator for 35 years serving as an elementary education teacher and guidance counselor with Dorchester school district 4.  She was an active member of the St. George United Methodist Church and the Contemporary Christian Sunday school class.  She was an avid Clemson fan, supporter of IPTAY and the Atlanta Braves.  She loved working with children, gardening and yard work. She was predeceased by sister-in-law and her husband, Maija Givens and Toby Givens.

Surviving is her husband, Steven L. McMillan; a son, Lawrence Tyler McMillan; parents, Donnie and Lena Kizer; a brother, Donald Myers (Heather) Kizer, Anderson; nieces, Amelia Ann Kizer, Elizabeth Covington and Callah Givens; nephews, Michael Covington and Arron (Jen) Givens; brother-in-law, Richard Keith (Jennifer) McMillan; mother-in-law, Mary K. McMillan; and devoted dog, Hampton.
