Daniel Francis Blanchard, Jr., 87, of Harleyville, husband of Louise Westbury Blanchard, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at Trident Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Harleyville Southern Methodist Church with Rev. Haskell Parler and Rev. Louis Imsande officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roger Quattlebaum, John Welch, Jeffy Westbury, Michael Taylor, Heath Westbury and Mark McDonald. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church.
Dan was born on August 9, 1933, on Sullivan’s Island, a son of the late Daniel F. and Grace Stockton Blanchard. He was a graduate of Moultrie High School and The Citadel and was a retired budget analyst with the US Naval Weapons Station. He served in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 128 and Harleyville Southern Methodist Church where he was a former Sunday School teacher. He was predeceased by a brother, Eugene Blanchard.
Surviving is his wife, Louise W. Blanchard, Harleyville; three sons, D. Frankie (Laura) Blanchard, III, Mt. Pleasant, Bruce H. Blanchard, J. Christopher (Mary) Blanchard, all of Harleyville; grandchildren, Emma Blanchard, Molly Blanchard, Daniel Blanchard and William Blanchard; brothers, Richard (Roberta) Blanchard, Mt. Pleasant, Alfred “Al” (Debbie) Blanchard, Birmingham, AL; and a sister, Elizabeth B. Imsande, Mt. Pleasant.
