Charles T. Childers, Sr., 83, husband of Jacklyn K. Childers, died Sunday November 1, 2020, at MUSC after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2020 in the Holly Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Todd Hodge officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery directed by Bryant Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be James Flannery, Chris Childers, Kyle Childers, Michael Childers, Dustin Childers, Aaron Roberts, Zachary Roberts and Ryan Childers.
Charles was born on July 1, 1937 in Manning, a son of the late George William and Maude Alice Cutter Childers. He was a truck driver with Smith Trucking and a member of Holly Hill Pentecostal Church. He was predeceased by siblings, Janet Smoak, William James Childers, Louis Childers, Johnny Childers and George Edward Childers.
Surviving is his wife, Jacklyn Kennedy Childers; four sons, Thomas Theadore (Amanda) Childers, Charles (Angie) Childers, all of Harleyville, Carl Edward (Lucy Moody) Childers, Eutawville, Kenneth Wayne(Melonie) Childer, Elloree; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and, sisters, Doris Robertson, Betty Murray and Dorothy Murray.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Holly Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church.
