Cecile Mizell Weinhold, age 88, of Titusville (Florida), passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on July 1, 2023. Cecile was born on February 11, 1935 in Walterboro, South Carolina to Cecil and Verlie Rahn. After graduation from high school, she married her first love, Joseph P. (“Pat”) Mizell, and together they had two children: Cynthia (“Cyndee”) Mizell D’Andrea (Antonio) and Steven P. Mizell (now deceased). After her children were born Cecile went on to college and obtained her Masters in Social Work at the age of 56. She held many jobs over the course of her life with most of her professional career being at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Cecile and Pat relocated to Florida in 1997 where he passed away in 2001. After his passing Cecile was blessed to find her second love in Kenneth Weinhold and they were married for 17 years until his passing in 2021. Cecile became a beloved “step mother” and “grammy” and poured her overflowing love to Kenneth’s many family members.
Cecile’s passion was her family and her faith. She loved unconditionally, always encouraging others to thrive for the best in themselves. The impact she left on everyone she loved will be felt for generations to come. In addition to her spouses and son she is preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Verlie Rahn, brothers Keel and Isaac (“Bozie”) Rahn & sisters Lavenia Roberts and Verlinda Nettles. She is survived by her daughter Cyndee and too many family members (by blood and by love) to count.
A graveside service will be held October 28, 2023 at St. George Memorial Cemetery at 2:00, with visitation at Bryant Funeral Home 12:00 until 1:30. A celebration of her life will be held on October 29, 2023 at 3 o’clock in the afternoon at New Hope Christian Church in Islandton, SC. The family asks that memorials be made to Samaritans’ Purse (www.samaritanspurse.org, P. O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607) and plant a crape myrtle in remembrance of her.
