Richard Phillip Bishop

Richard Phillip Bishop, 69, of Summerville, husband of Sharon R. Bishop, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at MUSC.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Limestone Baptist Church in Dorchester, SC with Reverend Sid Mims officiating.  A private burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

Phillip was born on April 29, 1949, and raised in The Bend, son of the late Richard Sidi and Doreta Parker Bishop.  He was a graduate of Harleyville-Ridgeville High School and Trident Technical College.  He was a retired lab technician with Giant Cement Company, served in the Army Reserve as a Medic, and was a member of Limestone Baptist Church.

Surviving is his wife, Sharon Riley Bishop, Summerville; sons, Brian (Heather) Bishop, Ricky Bishop, all of Cross, Ryan (Truth) Infinger, Lexington and Nick (Angie) Infinger, Ruffin; grandchildren, Hayden Bishop, Ryleigh Bishop, Melodie Infinger, Justin Infinger, Bryan Ketchum, Ashley Cain, Megan Ricketson and one great-grandson, Sebastian Ricketson; a sister, Harriett (David) McCoy, Hopkins; brothers, Jerry S. (Kathy) Summerville and Jeffrey W. Bishop, Charleston; nephews; Ryan (Mary Beth) Bishop, Andrew (Veronica) Bishop, Madison Bishop, Adam Bishop; a niece Lauren B. McCoy, and one aunt, Ruth B. Limehouse.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Limestone Baptist Church, 1890 East Main Street, Dorchester, SC 29437 or a charity of one’s choice.
