Perry Bennett “Shorty” Berry, 81 husband of Jean Taylor Berry passed away Saturday May 11, 2019 in the Colleton Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M Tuesday in St. George Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend Howard Proveaux officiating. Burial will follow Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Berry, Glenn Childers, Chris Waggoner, Nick Waggoner, Wayne Broad, and Henry Chavis.
Visitation will be one hour before service at the St. George Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Bennett was born April 24, 1938 in Reevesville a son of the late Oscar Levance and Correne Ellena “Irene” Judy Berry. He was a retired forklift operator at the US Cocoa Mat Plant and a member of the St. George Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He was predeceased by his daughter: Phyllis B. Shuler and granddaughter, Samantha Rebecca Infinger; brothers; John Allen Berry and Oscar L. Berry, Jr.
Surviving is his wife, Annie Jean Taylor Berry, a daughter, Maude B. (Peanut) Rudd, Grands; Allen Ashley Shuler, Angel Nichole Shuler, Chris Waggoneer, Nick Waggoner. Step-granddaughter, Crystal (Glenn) Childers, 3 step-great grands, Braden, Zack, and Jesse Childers; and a sister, Martha Huff.
