Peggy Jean Marchant

Peggy Jean Marchant, 78, of St. George, wife of Donald “Donnie” Marchant, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

A Memorial Service will be held on 2:00 PM Wednesday at Harleyville Southern Methodist Church with the Reverends Reggie Thomas and Douglas Marchant and Pastor Howard Proveaux officiating.  Visitation will be an hour before the service.

Peggy was born on May 16, 1940, in St. George, a daughter of the late Hudson (Red) and Aileen Judy Martin.  She was a shipping clerk with Carolina Girls Wear and an active member of Harleyville Southern Methodist Church.  She was predeceased by siblings, Hudson H. Martin, Jr., Betty Irene Marchant, Heyward Martin, Robin M. Genualdi, Morgan Bowick and Raymond Bowick.

Surviving is her loving husband of 58 years, Donald “Donnie” Marchant, St. George; a son, Donald Curtis (Lisa) Marchant, Carolina Beach, NC; a daughter, Charlene M. (Bobby) Revell; grandchildren, Shane (Connor) Marchant, Saree Marchant, Scott Revell, Corey (Charlotte) Mackey, B.J. (Stephanie) Revell, Travis Mackey and Tasha Revell; great-grandchildren, Camron, Zack, Bethany, Kinsley, Issy, Mason, Drake, Joshua, Jada, Christopher and Chelsea; brothers, Albert “Joe” (Susan) Martin, Santee, McArthur (Judy) Martin and Wayne ( Dee-Dee) Martin, both of Cordova, Hank E. Martin, Branchville; and, a sister, Patsy (Donnie) Byrd, Round O; special companion, Missy.  The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice and a special friend, Jane Quinn.
