Mamie Fender Obituary

Mamie Sue Fender, 91, widow of George E. Fender, of Reevesville, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Graveside funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, August 17, 2018 at the St. George Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Theron Smith. Pallbearers will be Jamey Fender, Denny Shuler, Mason Fender, Cohen Shuler, Jim Cooner, Blaine Fender, and Hamilton Clark. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George.

Mamie Sue was born on June 21, 1927, in Reevesville, a daughter of the late James Dennis and Maggie Lou Kiser Hutto.  She graduated from St. George High School and attended Columbia College. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and camping with her family.  She was a member of St. George United Methodist Church.  She was predeceased by her twin sister, Annie Lou Hutto Rush.      

Surviving are her son, James E. (Kay) Fender; a daughter, Pam F. (Joey) Shuler; all of Reevesville; grandchildren, Jamey (Christie) Fender, Reevesville, Lindsay (Bobby) Wood, Daniel Island, Jill Shuler, Mt. Pleasant, Denny Shuler, Reevesville; great-grandchildren, Mason, Maddison and Myles Fender, Julia and Emmy Wood, and, Cohen and Hollis Shuler; sister, Thelma H. Berry; a brother-in-law, LeGrande Fender; and a number of nieces and nephews.  The family would like to thank her special caregivers Barbara L. Allen and Jean S. Judy and the staff at Patriot Hospice.
