Louise McAlhany Berry, 92, widow of Willie Clyde Berry, Jr., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the St. George Health Care Center.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Old St. George Baptist Church with the Reverend James Way officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews. Family will receive friends Friday, July 5, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 PM at her home, 515 Friendship Road, Reevesville. The family will also receive friends an hour before the service in the church.
Louise was born on March 17, 1927 in Branchville, a daughter of the late Theodore and Ester Ruby Hutto McAlhany. She attended Branchville Public school, was a seamstress with Carolina Girls Wear and a member of Old St. George Baptist Church. She was predeceased by grandchildren, Darren Wayne Berry, Rhonda Lynn Jeffcoat and siblings, Sally Thomas, Julia Ray Crosby, J.W. McAlhany and Furman McAlhany.
Surviving are her sons, Clyde Derrell (Patricia) Berry and David Theodore (Edie) Berry; a daughter, Sonja Louise (Joe) Chavis, all of Reevesville; a brother, Gerald (Miriam) McAlhany, Walterboro; a sister, Delores “Baby Doll” Wolfe, Branchville; sisters-in-law, Edna McAlhany, Miriam McAlhany and Carrie McAlhany; grandchildren, Mark (Phyllis) Chavis, Randy Scott (Kristy) Chavis, Donna Berry, Dana B. Vogt, Chloe Berry, Colleen (Brandon) Bair; great-grandchildren, Randy Joe Chavis, Gabriel Mark Chavis, Victoria Louise Jeffcoat, Javon Berry, Darren Vogt, Ricky Cobby, Latrey Cobb , Leah Cobb and Xavier Cobb; Her loving caregiver who was an angel, Angie Taylor.
