Carroll Morris McAlhaney, 76, of St. George, husband of Sandra H. McAlhaney, entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Colleton Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday August 1, 2018 at Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Clay Shook and Rev. Kevin Hinton officiating. Burial will follow in the Bryant-Reeves cemetery, Reevesville, SC. Pallbearers will be Scott Norton, Geoffrey McAlhaney, Allen Crowe, Robbie McAlhaney, Danny McAlhaney, and Tony McAlhaney, Honorary pallbearers will be the Wilson Patrick Sunday School Class. Visitation will be Tuesday July 31, 2108 evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George.
Carroll was born on October 26, 1941 in Dorchester County, a son of the late James Bellinger “JB” and Carrie Mae Dukes McAlhaney. He was a graduate of St. George High School and retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard where he was a pipefitter and a progress man. He worked for Jim Bilton Ford and Chevrolet for many years as a driver. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church where he was active in the Wilson Patrick Sunday School Class and Harmony Masonic Lodge. He is predeceased by siblings: Dennis E. McAlhaney, Charles McAlhaney, and Lyndia Ferkovics.
Surviving is his wife, Sandra Hinton McAlhaney; a daughter, Lisa (Frank) West, all of St. George; a son, Rev. Dr. Tim (Dr. Maureen) McAlhaney, Kijabe, Kenya, Africa; grandchildren, Abbie West, Luke McAlhaney, Kate McAlhaney; brothers, James A. McAlhaney, Summerville, Terry (Palmer) McAlhaney, North Charleston, Don (Esther) McAlhaney, Pembroke Pines, FL, sisters, Sylvia “Sue” M. Norton, Blythewood and Rosemary M. Crowe, Reevesville; sisters-in-law, Delaine McAlhaney, Reevesville and June McAlhaney, Elgin.
