Calvin Coolidge “Cooch” Murray, widower of Ludy Harbeson Murray, entered into eternal rest on what would have been their 75th wedding anniversary, Monday, August 12, 2019 at the Veteran’s Victory House.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday at Indian Field United Methodist Church with the Reverends and Daniel Cooper and Robert Reeves officiating. Burial with Military Honors and Masonic Rites will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin from 1:00 PM until time of service at the Fellowship Hall. Pallbearers will be Allen Murray, Pinckney Murray, Joe Murray, Howard Westbury, Harley Herndon, Jr., Samuel Stephens.
Calvin was born on December 1, 1923, in Harleyville, a son of the late Willie C. Murray and Maggie Belle Heaton Murray. He was retired US Navy, WWII Veteran and a member of Indian Field United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his son Dane and Cathy Murray; grandsons, Kevin and Anna Murray, Keith and Stephanie Murray; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Walker and Liza. Special family friend and caregiver, Deloris “Lila” Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
