Katie Amerson Brickle

Katie Sue Amerson Brickle, 82, of St. George, widow of Charlie R. Brickle, Sr., entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at her daughter’s residence.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 24, 2018, at St. Matthews Baptist Church with Reverend Duane Woosley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Murray Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Lewis Hughes, Jeremy Hughes, Gibran Ameer, Robbie Brickle, Wes Brickle, Jack Brickle and Jared Brickle.  Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George.

Katie was born on July 20, 1935 in Harleyville, a daughter of the late, Robert Bradley and Idell Infinger Amerson. She attended Harleyville Public Schools and was a seamstress with Carolina Girls Wear.  She was a member of the St. Matthews Baptist Church.

Surviving is a daughter, Susan B. Hughes, St. George;  three sons, Charlie R. (Debbie) Brickle, Jr., St. George, George R. (Susan) Brickle, and James W. “Bubsy” (Susan) Brickle, all of Reevesville; grandchildren, Kimberly (Gibran) Ameer, Robbie (Amanda) Brickle, Jennifer B. (Ryan) Daley, Jack Brickle, Lewis Hughes, Lori Hughes, Jeremy (Christi) Hughes, Wes (Elizabeth) Brickle; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Ameer, Jared and Jayden Brickle, Declan Daley, Charlie Hughes, Dalton and Faith Hughes and Emily Brickle; a brother, William Amerson, NC and a sister, Blanche A. (Parnell) DuBois, Simpsonville.
