Harris Wendell Taylor, 75, of 363 Duncan Chapel Road, Harleyville, husband of Patty Wall Taylor, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 17, 2017 at his residence.
Funeral Services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Summerville Presbyterian Church with Dr. Mike Shelton officiating. Private burial with military honors will be prior to service in the Old White Church Cemetery, Dorchester Road, Summerville, SC. Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Parker, Jerry Moore, B.W. Parker, Roger Taylor, Ron DeBrosse, L.B. Taylor. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George.
Harris was born on April 20, 1941 in Charleston, a son of the late Lee Manuel and Rosa Lee Wimberly Taylor. He was an Air Force Veteran and a retired welder with Giant Cement Company. He was a member of the Summerville Presbyterian Church, Salkehatchie Antique Tractor Association and Local 216. He was predeceased by sibling, Wilbur E. Taylor.
Surviving is his wife, Patricia “Patty” W. Taylor, Harleyville; two daughters, April (Ken) Gillespie Harleyville and Marcia (Stephen) Alewine, Vance; step-daughter, Rebecca (Bryan) Sessions, Dorchester; step-sons, Jonathan (Jacquie) Songer, Las Vegas, Nevada and Daniel Songer, Ridgeville; grandchildren, Travis Carico, Robert (Brittany) Carico, Caroline (Andrew Marshall Carter, II) Carter, Lee Alewine, Savannah (Ben) Chapman, Sam Parker and Grace Songer; great-grandchildren, Andrew M. “Tripp” Carter, III and Braxton Carico.
